Nous vous invitons à venir découvrir à la librairie l'exposition consacrée à une série en noir et blanc réalisée par le photographe suédois Martin Bogren lors d'un voyage initiatique en Italie, dans le cadre du Festival Photo Saint Germain, qui se déroulera du 3 au 19 novembre, le vernissage aura lieu le 2 novembre à partir de 18h.
"Si la série "Italia" débute comme un voyage à la rencontre d’un pays et de son peuple, elle évolue rapidement vers une narration relevant plus de l’état d’esprit ou de l’autoportrait. J’étais à l’époque dans une quête de renouveau. Alors que je sillonnais le pays, j’étais en proie à une grande agitation intérieure.
L’Italie m’a transmis une joie de vivre qui m’avait cruellement fait défaut l’hiver dernier, alors que je voyageais vers le Nord. Un autre rythme, une nouvelle énergie retenaient mon attention tandis que mon esprit devenait plus impulsif, guidé par l’émotion. Une vie animée et captivante se déroulait sous mes yeux et m’offrait de la matière et du sens.
Et j’ai fait des images. Des images d’une Italie que je ne prétends pas fidèles à la réalité, mais qui procèdent du souvenir, de la sensation, de la pensée ou du rêve."

We invite you to come to the bookstore to discover the exhibition dedicated to the black and white series that swedish photographer Martin Bogren realized during an initiatory journey in Italia, as part of the Photo Saint Germain Festival, which will last from Novembrer 3 to November 19. The opening exhibition will take place on November 2 starting at 6 pm.
"Italia" begun as a journey and a portray of the country and its people, but soon reshaped to a narrative of a state of mind and more considered as a self portrait. It was in a time of changes and in a search for something new. Parallel with a geographical journey through the country, there was an intense ride going on within myself.
This country showed me a zest for life and a temperament I had been starved for during recent winters traveling northbound and an other pace and energy attracted my attention, and an impulsive and emotionally driven mind arised. A pulsating, vibrant life was going on and gave content and meaning.
And I photographed. An Italy that I do not at all claim to be a true depiction, and not even fair - but simply an Italy that somehow stems from memories, senses, thoughts and dreams."
