Dans le cadre de The Analog Festival - Le Mois de l’instantanée, nous avons le plaisir d’exposer des Polaroïds originaux de Donna Trope qui pour certains ont été réunis au sein Donna Trope Polaroids publié par Patrick Remy Studio en 2023. L'exposition se tiendra du 23 mai au 8 juin 2024, avec un vernissage le 23 mai à partir de 18h.
Donna Trope est née à Los Angeles et a grandi à Londres. Autodidacte, elle s'est inspirée de ses propres expériences et a développé un style particulier. C’est une photographe primée, de renommée mondiale, spécialisée dans les images de beauté. Ses photos de beauté sexy, conceptuelles et novatrices sont allées à l'encontre de ce qui était considéré comme commercialement beau et sont aujourd'hui un statu quo très imité.
Le travail de Donna a été exposé dans des galeries du monde entier. Ses photographies font partie des collections permanentes du Victoria & Albert Museum ainsi que de certaines collections privées. Donna Trope a toujours utilisé des polaroïds lors de ses prises de vue, comme test avant la prise de vue finale sur film, et ce, même à l'ère du numérique. Conservés précieusement, il y en a aujourd'hui plus de 25 000.
As part of The Analog Festival - Le Mois de l'instantanée, we are delighted to be exhibiting original Polaroids by Donna Trope, some of them were recently gathered in Donna Trope Polaroids published by Patrick Remy Studio in 2023. The exhibition will run from 23 May to 8 June 2024, with an opening on 23 May from 6pm.
Donna Trope was born in Los Angeles and bred in London. Being self-taught, she drew from her own experiences and developed a look and a style. Donna Trope is an award winning, world-renowned photographer specialising in beauty images Her sexy, conceptual, ground breaking beauty shots went against the grain of what was considered commercially beautiful and are now the much imitated status quo.
Donna’s work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide. She has photographs in the permanent collections of The Victoria & Albert Museum as well as in selected private collections. Donna Trope has always used Polaroids on her shootings as a test before the final take on film, even in the digital era. Preciously stored away, there are over 25,000 of them now.
