Tracks of the City
Photographs: Shin Yanagisawa
Text: Ryuichi Kaneko

Year: 1979
Comments: Hardcover under dust jacket, 210 x 225 mm. First edition, 1979. Text in english and in japanese. Some wears to the cover. In very good condition.
Little known in the west, Shin Yamagisawa is one of Japan's preeminent photographers of the urban scene. In the desolate geometry of his images, there is entropy and collapse. There is Atget's sense of emptiness and Evans' eye for the telling detail, combined with a formal rigor that is equal parts Callahan and Dusseldorf.
Among the more scarce in the Asahi Sonorama series.
