Pfeil im Weltraum is a visual poem based on images from
from scientific encyclopedias. They give us the opportunity to look at distant or microscopic constellations. Small dots of
stars whose frame, made visible, reveals the artificiality of the image and allows us to scrutinize the smallest details,
We are in front of an elementary language: the plane, the point
and the arrow as an attempt to decipher the space. Symbol
of the human intervention, the arrow marks a rupture in the
regime of signs of the image. It enjoins the glance by incarnating
modernity and the scientific truth in front of the apparent disorder
of the world:
Deprived of legends, these arrows question what is given to us
given to us to see, and thus to believe. The images do not indicate anything any more and become again spaces of projection, leaving aside the field of the knowledge to reopen that of the possible.
The title is inspired by a painting by Paul Klee entitled "Pfeil im Garten" (Arrow in the garden, 1929).
