Ye Zeng Yi LiDECEPTIONS

Deceptions, Ye Zeng Yi Li's third publication, the result of a collaboration between Grani Edizioni and LatoPaper, indulges the artist's nonlinear attitude, spreading his work across multiple levels to show it from different perspectives. The portraits skinned on expired 4x5 Polaroids, the urban scenes with a bucolic soul, and the drawings traced on the film itself and printed in the darkroom have common denominators that basculate, do not stay in place, accompany us, pandering to our expectations only to abandon us at the last crossroads, the most defiled one, where the barrens of alienation urge care, evasion and expiation, and where deception returns a naive nighttime trick.
