"During the following 6 days, from dawn to dusk, I wandered aimlessly around Manhattan. I strolled the streets, often without knowing where I was, from those of Little Italy, Times Square, The Bronx, Harlem, Battery Park, Soho, Chelsea, Central Park, Broadway, Canal Street, Lower East Side, to East Village...I discovered a city almost in ruins, beautiful, exciting, alive. I let my eye and my brain guide me while I uncritically pressed the shutter buttom of my camera. The dirt, the poverty, the wealth and luxury were all mixed together yet contradicting and opposing each other. Everything was beautiful and interesting. Everything was so different. This is the New York I discovered in Christas and which I now wish to offer you in 2016."
