Images from before.
I used to take photographs of my relatives, a little naively, a little innocently, images that date from high school, from adolescence, then from college, from a bygone era, before I entered the Beaux Arts. I made the prints in the darkroom that my mother had installed in the cellar, until the stock of photo paper she had inherited ran out. I spent my afternoons there, revealing faces, in the dark. Without filters, grains of dust, noise of the cogs of the wooden Imperator enlarger, the smell of the developer. Prints often gray, dark. This is how I started photography. I collected these images in 2013 on the occasion of an artist's book project at Pneumatophore Editions directed by Patrick Devreux in which an (e)ch-oécriture with Lucie Pastureau opens and closes the book.
