Takashi Kyōji is among the leading contemporary Japanese photographers, and his vibrant, electric work has been praised by John Szarkowski and Robert Frank. This volume, its title borrowed from Charles Bukowski (a portrait of whom appears in the book), features lyrical and rambling full-color snapshots from America, Japan, and elsewhere, and includes many pictures of haunted, abandoned landscapes.
Kyoji Takahashi was born in Tokyo, japan in 1960. From 1991 to 1993 he had been taking these photographs. He has been using a vintage 8 x 10 Deardarff field view camera, a wide field ektar lens 10 inches.
