ヒロシマ • 広 島 • hirou-ʃimə. A collection of rough, gritty and haunting black and white photographs. Wonderfully sequenced.
Photographs are taken by the All Japan students photographers association (Zen-Nihon Gakusei Shashin renmei). This association was founded in 1952.
Published on the occasion of Hiroshima Day 1972. Together with Shomei Tomatsu and Kikuji Kawada, the students realized this series with their own fears and felt. 25 years after this disaster everyone has still in mind this bad part of the history.
Many students put their pictures together but at the end we can feel the impact of this accumulation as only one works.
