Nishimura’s photobook Existence.1968-69 Theatre de Situation is a photographic documentation of the underground venue Theatre de Situation. Frequently visiting the theatre in order to photograph the actors, Nishimura captured images of performances by Akaji Moro, Simon Yotsuya, and Juro Kara. The black and white images are stark, beautifully capturing the emotions of the subjects on stage, presenting an experience of the world which encapsulated the Theatre de Situation in between 1968 and 1969.

Softcover, 26 x 18,2 cm, b&w photographs. In very good condition other than very little wear. Text in Japanese.
