“Oblivion” est le témoignage de moments à la fois banals et mystérieux dans notre
existence : le sommeil. Un état d’abandon où l’on n’est pas conscient de ce qui se
passe autour de soi, et dont on se souvient peu après.
J’ai choisi d’observer mes proches dans leur sommeil profond, imperturbable. Ils
sont là, face à moi dans le noir, mais étrangement absents. Leurs visages figés,
paisibles, presqu’angéliques me fascinent.
Les images sont extraites de vidéos filmées à l’infrarouge. Imprimées sur un
papier calque à l’imprimante laser, les noirs restent le plus profond possible. La
manoeuvre est délicate, et exige de la patience. Le calque laisse échapper des
informations dans les blancs, j’ai joué avec ses absences et ai recréer de
nouvelles silhouettes de visages superposées.

Softcover, 29,5 x 21. Leporello, portrait B&W printed on tracing paper. Enclosed in a black envelope. Limited edition signed.
