Published in 1990 by the Centre Pompidou to accompany the major Andy Warhol retrospective from June 21 through September 10, 1990.

this book focuses exclusively on the artist’s film work, which was screened at the legendary Studio 5. It offers a total immersion: naturally, we rediscover his minimalist ‘action cinema’: the slumber of *Sleep*, the intimacy of *Kiss* or his legendary *Empire*. The book explores the full complexity of his later creations, notably his cult collaborations with Paul Morrissey, such as the hypnotic *The Chelsea Girls*.

More than a catalogue, it is a theoretical object: the layout itself is a manifesto. With perforated pages and visual rhythms, the book attempts to physically recreate the sensory experience of viewing the films. 

 

Softcover, 25,5 x 20,5 cm. B&W and colors photographs. Nicely design by Xavier Barral and others, with the die cut cover and several pages are cut horizontally to create another type of compositions. In very good condition with some wears on the cover.
