There is a repetitive quality to Riebesehl's compositions and although the beauty of the agricultural landscape is aknowledged, it is their function as a productive mechanism that is celebrated. As Riebesehl analyzes the modified landscapes of North Germany, his images seem to have a melancholic beauty, which further alludes to the changing function of these landscapes as they alter under progressive agricultural modernisation.
