This land of Palestine has been promised so many times, and to so many different people, 
that it has become irreducibly a land of war. Three religions were born from each other, 
multiplying the signs of peace. But, be they of good will, men do not always control events. 
They are more often the toy.
Magnum has long been reporting on the history that is being made, as a warm and lucid witness. 
His observation of unhappiness is the result of fraternal sympathy, of a desire to understand, 
of a great experience of the current world. It was in 1947, in Paris, that Robert Capa, 
David Seymour,George Rodger and Henri Cartier-Bresson founded Magnum to provide photographers with a 
working tool capable of meeting their ambition. 
This first cooperative remains unique in its kind, the quality of its work is indisputable.
