In this dreamlike variation on Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth, Tiane Doan na Champassak appropriates the first great literary classic he read as a child, replacing Édouard Riou's iconic illustrations with his own visual odyssey: 56 photographs of the world's largest river cave, Xe Bang Fai, in Laos.
Photographed in analog, the images are treated with unusual substances that corrode and accentuate their fluid surface.
